Former President, Astros fan, George H.W. Bush tosses first pitch

The Houston Astros hosted their first MLB postseason game since the 2005 season in Game 3 of the ALDS. Understandably, fans young and old packed Minute Maid Park on Sunday afternoon — including former President George H. W. Bush, who is 91 years old. 

With former First Lady Barbara Bush by his side, the 41st President of the United States, a regular sight at Houston sporting events, threw out the first pitch prior to the Astros' Sunday matchup against the Kansas City Royals. 

Bush, sporting a neck brace since he fell at his home in July and broke a vertebra in his neck, donned an orange Astros jersey — complete with orange socks — tossed the ball to Jed Lowrie from the seat of his wheelchair. 

As the presidential power couple took their usual seats behind home plate, Barbara gave her assessment of her husband's first pitch.

"I thought it was great," she told FOX 26's Mark Berman. "We're big Astros fans."
