This is horrifying, and something you would never expect or hope to happen.

During Monday night’s Cubs-Pirates game, a fan behind home plate was struck with a foul ball hit by Starlin Castro through the netting. The netting didn’t snap, but the fan was standing close enough to the netting where it gave enough to still hit her in the head.

This was a completely freak accident that no one could have imagined happening. The game was delayed ten minutes while the fan was attended to. Hopefully, she’ll be OK.
