'Entourage' star interested in Mets' stake

The financial worries of the New York Mets could be lightened a little Saturday with some celebrity actors reportedly buddying up to invest in the troubled franchise.

"Entourage" star Kevin Connolly told TMZ he wanted to buy a stake in the woefully indebted organization, which reportedly lost $50 million last year and was forced to take an $20 million emergency loan from Major League Baseball.

Connolly, who plays Eric Murphy in the hit series, confirmed he was teaming up with "a group of guys" ahead of a potential bid, which apparently includes some friends from the show.

The site reported that Connolly's co-star Kevin Dillon, better known to audiences as Johnny Drama, and executive producer Doug Ellin were also among the bidders.
