Ender Inciarte makes heroic catch, robs Yoenis Cespedes of game-winning home run
After leading the Atlanta Braves 3-0 in a crucial game with playoff implications, the New York Mets blew their advantage in the top of the 9th inning and faced a 4-3 deficit headed into the bottom of the frame.
With runners on first and second and two outs, Mets all-star Yoenis Cespedes stepped to the plate and lauched a ball off Braves closer Jim Johnson deep into the night. Off-the-bat, it seemed that the Mets were only seconds away from experiencing the euphoria of a dramatic September baseball walk-off home run win...
...that is until Ender Inciarte ripped out the hearts of the Citi Field faithful with an outstanding, game-saving, over-the-wall catch:
By no means are the Mets out of the playoff race because of this, but man ... that hurts. What a play.
