Dodgers pitcher wore rally cups to try to end 17-inning game
The Dodgers and Padres played nearly two games in one on Sunday -- a 17-inning affair that prompted starting pitcher Alex Wood to wear cups on his body and the announcers to smear on some eyeblack.

Now here's Padres announcers Don Orsillo and Mark Grant doing their part to put the thing to rest:

Clearly the combination of Wood's rally cups and the rally eyeblack proved effective. Rally gear is all about personal expression, resourcefulness and utter desperation.
