Dodgers denied request for MLB docs

A Delaware judge has denied a motion by the Los Angeles Dodgers asking him to order Major League Baseball to turn over documents in the team's bankruptcy case.

Judge Kevin Gross agreed with the league Thursday that the information the team was seeking was irrelevant to the immediate issue of the team's proposed bankruptcy financing plan.

The Dodgers were seeking records that they believe could show MLB has treated the team unfairly and therefore should not be allowed to serve as its bankruptcy lender.

But Gross said he did not want to turn a July 20 hearing on the team's proposed financing plan into a trial of baseball Commissioner Bud Selig.
