Dodgers beat Arizona 7-4 despite Maeda's injury

PHOENIX (AP) Chase Utley homered and had four RBIs, Joc Pederson hit two homers and the Los Angeles Dodgers overcame Kenta Maeda's right leg injury to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-4 on Tuesday night.

Maeda (6-4) pitched into the sixth inning before a line drive by Paul Goldschmidt hit him below the knee. The Dodgers said the rookie right-hander suffered a contusion and X-rays were negative.

Pederson hit solo homers off Archie Bradley (2-3) and Justin Turner added another. Utley hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning and Kenley Jansen struck out the side in the ninth for his 18th save.

That was enough to help end the Dodgers' three-game losing streak, but their bigger concern was Maeda's painful injury.

Jean Segura had four hits and scored two runs for Arizona.
