Dillon Gee will 'probably' keep his spot in Mets' six-man rotation
Only a few days into their newly implemented six-man rotation and the New York Mets are already wavering as to whether they'll keep it intact.
As Dillon Gee gave up four earned runs and only went four innings in his first start back from the disabled list, manager Terry Collins was cagey about his projection for whether Gee would keep his turn in the rotation or be passed over.
"As of right now, I would say he probably will [start]," Collins said, per ESPN New York. "That can change."
The Mets' rotation is scheduled as follows for the weekend and beginning of next week: Jon Niese (Fri.), Bartolo Colon (Sat.), Jacob deGrom (Sun.), Noah Syndergaard (Tues.), Gee (Wed.), and Matt Harvey (Thurs.).
With that lineup, Harvey would have two extra days of rest, due to an off-day on Monday and Gee staring Wednesday, which he does not prefer.
However, Harvey has recently struggled on the mound, picking up losses in his last two starts, in which he gave up a combined 11 earned runs.
