Diamondbacks put Peralta back to DL, release Collmenter
PHOENIX (AP) The Arizona Diamondbacks placed outfielder David Peralta on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with right wrist inflammation, and released right-hander Josh Collmenter.
It's the third time on the DL for the 28-year-old Peralta, the second time for a wrist injury. Peralta has played only 48 games with the Diamondbacks this season and has also been on the disabled list for a lower back strain.
Outfielder Socrates Brito, sent to Triple-A Reno on Friday night after being reinstated from the disabled list, was recalled.
Collmenter's time with the club came to an official end. He was designated for assignment on July 30.
Known for his over-the-top overhand delivery, the 30-year-old Collmenter was used as a starter and reliever. He spent five-plus seasons with the Diamondbacks, including 15 appearances this season.
Collmenter went 36-33 with a 3.54 ERA over 200 games with the Diamondbacks.
The team tweeted out a thank you to Collmenter before Sunday's game against Milwaukee.
