Dee Gordon: Jose Fernandez said the Cubs and Indians were the best lineups he'd ever faced

Around an hour after the Cubs clinched their first pennant since 1945, sending them into the World Series to face the Indians, Marlins shortstop Dee Gordon shared a moving anecdote about his late teammate, Jose Fernandez.

Gordon—who homered in his first at bat following Fernandez’s tragic death this year and claimed he had never hit a baseball that far—tweeted that Fernandez told him the Cubs and Indians were the two best lineups he had ever faced.

First there was the Gordon home run, then a grand slam by Aldemys Diaz (the childhood friend of Fernandez), and now this. Fernandez must be watching from above.
