D-backs' Tomas feels 'at home' in Miami

With the Diamondbacks playing in Miami this week, Yasmany Tomas said “I feel like I am home,” according to MLB.com. With Miami close to his home country of Cuba and host to a large Cuban-American community, no wonder he feels this way. He continued:

"I have spent a little time in Arizona, in the Majors, but people recognize me here. Everything is familiar. My wife has lived a little more in Miami and she was preparing me for this."

On Monday Tomas certainly played like he felt he was home. Batting cleanup for the first time in his young career, he hit a two-run double, slid into an infield single and made a couple of nice plays at third.

After the game, manager Chip Hale jokingly responded to a question saying, "Did I put him in the four hole?” After his performance Monday, it wouldn’t be surprising if Tomas is batting cleanup the rest of this series.
