D-backs steal seven bases on the Marlins, including home
On Wednesday the Diamondbacks stole seven bases for the seventh time in team history. While A.J. Pollock stole home in the fifth inning, David Peralta swiped second -- a play which was not originally credited as a steal for Peralta. Per MLB.com, Pollock discussed his steal of home:
"I saw Dave (Marlins pitcher David Phelps) kind of getting in the middle there, saw the throw and went," Pollock said. "It's a good chance, good try right there. I wanted to get the best jump I could. I knew no matter what they would have to make a good throw. It was definitely worth getting out there and cheating a little bit. Morse had the ball. It worked out."
Pollock’s steal of home was one of three he had in the game -- a career-high for him. The steals were of second, third and home, making him the first D-back player to accomplish the feat.
