Counsell: 'We're looking for production'
The Brewers need help at second base.
“We have not gotten production out of second base this year at all,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “That’s the way it is. It hasn’t been good. We’re looking for production.”
Scooter Gennett started the season as the team's second baseman, but went on the Disabled List for a bit, struggled when he came back and was optioned to AAA.
So how's he doing down there?
“He’s doing well,” said Counsell. “The reports have been good.”
While Counsell said Gennett is doing "well" the Brewers haven't called him back up so it would appear they're still looking for more from him.
However, if no one on the Major League roster gets hot at second base, recalling Gennett may be an option simply for the fact that it gets a "new" face into the mix.
