Cleveland Indians fans may continue to have negative flashbacks to the World Series loss, but the players may still be having nightmares about it.

The players have to live with the Game 7 loss for the rest of their lives, constantly thinking about what could have been different after holding a 3-1 lead over the Chicago Cubs.

Sometimes humor is the best way to deal with these types of situations, as there are more important things in the world than sports. Although some fans may not realize this fact.

Trevor Bauer is great at keeping things lighthearted and dealing with the trolls who say horrific things to him just to get a rise or get themselves off. One of the two.

The above tweet is a great example of how Bauer can poke fun at himself and give us all a glimpse of what he must deal with on social media on a daily basis.

Some responses from fans show that they lack a sense of humor, but it is clear Bauer is poking fun at the constant mentions regarding his team and the lost 3-1 lead in the World Series.

It was a simple tweet, and clearly one that meant no harm. He just made a joke and moved on.

Some fans may take offense to any humor being directed toward the World Series loss, it isn’t a big deal. A fan cannot relate to the type of pain a player feels after such a loss, and Bauer obviously isn’t happy about his team’s shortcomings.

He also received and continues to receive countless hateful messages each day, and has actually embraced his role as the one trolls flock to harass, as seen in the tweet below which comes in response to a tweet that says “get cancer.”

Receiving messages from sociopaths cannot be easy, but it is great to see the Indians have a player who can have a presence on social media and not get carried away with it. He can see the hateful messages for what they are and take the high road. Responding only draws negative attention to the idiots who send the messages in the first place.

So as the offseason continues and the 2017 season gets closer, Bauer will continue to receive hateful messages on a daily basis. Luckily for Indians fans, Bauer will keep a level head and continue to be a fun and intelligent member of the franchise.
