Cleveland Indians minor-leaguer has yet to give up a run in his pro career
The beginning of J.P. Feyereisen's pro baseball career has been absolutely perfect. Literally.
Drafted in the 16th round of the 2014 MLB Draft, J.P. Feyereisen has already accomplished a pretty amazing feat in his young career -- he has yet to allow a run since turning pro.
The 22-year-old relief pitcher out of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is 4-0 with an ERA of 0.00.
Feyereisen has pitched 28 innings between the Mahoning Valley Scrappers (Class-A Short Season) in 2014 and the Lake County Captains (Class-A) this season. In those 28.0 innings, he's struck out 42 batters, allowed 11 hits, and walked only five.
So far this season, he's a perfect seven-for-seven in save opportunities, has racked up 18 strikeouts and has only walked four in 11 innings pitched.
The only other pitcher at the Class-A level to throw more innings and not allow a run this season has been St. Louis Cardinals prospect Kyle Grana, as noted by Let's Go Tribe. The 24-year-old reliever hasn't allowed a run in 11.2 innings for the Peoria Chiefs, but has walked six, which is two more than Feyereisen.
