Bryant uses off day to visit old stomping grounds
Prior to the Cubs series against the Padres in San Diego, Kris Bryant decided to use the off day to visit his old school – the University of San Diego.
"I liked hanging out with [the coaches] and supporting the program and having friends there who i can call when i need to talk about this crazy game," Bryant told Cubs.com. "They were always there for me. I can't wait to see them."
Bryant was a star at the University of San Diego and just as any college kid would, Bryant enjoyed the San Diego beaches and weather.
Of course his time at USD was also about baseball and the young phenom fondly remembers his time in southern California.
"The beach was nice, the weather, the academics, the baseball program was good and the coaches were awesome when i met them," Bryant said. "All the other schools made it seem like political. [The USD] guys were so down to earth and said, 'You're going to come here and get better, and you're going to play every game.' They promised me all these things and kept their promises."
