Brooklyn Cyclones to host 'Nickelodeon' bobblehead night at ballpark

As far as minor league promotions go, the Brooklyn Cyclones are the heavyweight champions of the world.

With hallmark themed evenings like Seinfeld night and American Gladiator night on their resume, the Cyclones have pioneered the path in nostalgia themed events at minor league ballparks.

And, true to form, they're serving up another dose of 100 percent, USDA-approved TV nirvana in "'90s/Nickelodeon Night"—an event that'll go down next Wednesday at the their digs in MCU Park.

Players will be decked out in The Ren & Stimpy Show-themed jerseys and fans who buy a special package will receive a Ren and Stimpy bobblehead.

As someone who grew up appreciating the grossly inappropriate and scat-centric stylings of The Ren & Stimpy Show, I applaud the Cyclones' efforts. I also wonder how this show was greenlit for the consumption of children.

Dan is on Twitter. He's not saying The Ren & Stimpy Show shaped his still-juvenile mind into its current form. He's just saying he probably wouldn't be have a job that involved writing about a Ren and Stimpy promotion if it weren't for them.
