Braves trade Francisco to Brewers

Third baseman Juan Francisco has been traded from the Atlanta Braves to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league left-handed pitcher Tom Keeling.

The 25-year-old Keeling will be assigned to Double-A Mississippi, the Braves said Monday.

Francisco, who had shared time at third base with Chris Johnson, hit .241 with five homers, 16 RBIs and 43 strikeouts in 108 at-bats and was designated for assignment Thursday. He hit .234 with nine homers as Chipper Jones' backup last year.

Keeling was the Brewers' 18th-round draft pick from Oklahoma State in 1010. He was 0-1 with a 3.18 ERA and one save with Double-A Huntsville this season.
