Blue Jays option RHP Aaron Sanchez to minors

CLEVELAND (AP) The Toronto Blue Jays have optioned right-hander Aaron Sanchez, who has the fifth-lowest ERA in the American League, to Class A Dunedin.

The Blue Jays are expected to recall Sanchez to start against Baltimore on Aug. 31 after he spends the required 10 days in the minors. The team has been trying to limit Sanchez's innings, and it's unlikely he'll pitch in a game at Dunedin.

Sanchez is 12-2 with a 2.99 ERA in 24 starts and a career-high 156 1/3 innings.

He started Saturday against the Cleveland Indians but couldn't hold an early 5-0 lead. Sanchez didn't allow a hit through three innings, but he gave up five runs in the fourth and didn't come out for the fifth.

Left-hander Aaron Loup was recalled Sunday from Triple-A Buffalo.
