Beckham leaves game in 4th with quad strain

Chicago White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham has left the game on Thursday night against the Minnesota Twins in the fourth inning because of a strained right quadriceps.

Beckham went 1 for 2 with a single and a run scored before experiencing tightness in his quad. The White Sox say he was pulled for precautionary reasons and will be evaluated on Friday.

Beckham is hitting .310 this season with three homers and 17 RBIs. He missed almost two months earlier this season when he broke the hamate bone in his left hand.

Jeff Keppinger took Beckham's place at second base.
