Baltimore Orioles' Manny Machado impressive in Home Run Derby
While he didn't advance past the first round, Manny Machado exceeded expectations in Monday night's Home Run Derby.
The Orioles third baseman jacked 12 bombs during his four minute round and 30 seconds of bonus time, which was pretty impressive. Unfortunatley for Machado, he went head-to-head with Dodgers rookie Joc Pederson, who was able to hit 13 homers in only two minutes, 55 seconds.
Known more for his speed and slick defensive skills than his bat, Machado seemed somewhat of an unlikely candidate for the derby. But with 19 bombs already this season, the two-time All-Star showed that he belonged Monday night.
