Bag of air from Cubs World Series win found on eBay

After the Chicago Cubs won the World Series on Wednesday night, someone has posted a bag of air on eBay.

Unless you’ve been abducted by aliens or been living under a rock this week, then you know the Chicago Cubs won the 2016 World Series. With the win comes all the championship gear that fans rush out to buy, but one piece of memorabilia has come into the public eye.

A bag of air…yes, you read that correctly, an actual bag of air has popped up for sale on eBay. The description of the item simply reads “Bag of Air From the 2016 World Series Cubs Win Championship.” As of Friday night, four bids had posted a total of $5.50 on the popular selling site.

Now when you think of championship apparel, you think of a lot of things. First things that come to mind would be the t-shirts and hats the players wear during the celebrations. You can buy pictures and framed artwork from various sites such as Amazon, eBay, and the MLB Shop website. But a supposed “bag of air” from Cleveland, home of Game 7 of this year’s fall classic, seems to be a bit of a stretch.

Still, the item remains listed on eBay’s site. The bidding is set to expire on Wednesday, November 9, just before midnight. Several people are “watching” the item, likely just to see how the bidding progresses. The item description says nothing about a certificate of authenticity or even a photograph of the bag inside the stadium. For all we know, the seller (malkour0), could have bought the bag from a grocery store in his listed hometown of Schaumburg, Illinois and just tried to turn a profit.

In looking at some of the seller’s other items up for sale, you will find a LeBron James Nike shirt, a John Stockton NBA throwback jersey, and other sports items. The listing is worth checking out, even if for comedic value.
