Astros sign pick Daz Cameron, son of former MLB'er Mike

On Tuesday, the Houston Astros celebrated coming to an agreement with another of their 2015 Draft picks - Daz Cameron, said to be a five-tool outfield prospect.

The Astros selected Cameron, the son of longtime Major League outfielder Mike Cameron, with the 37th pick in the 2015 Draft.

According to MLB.com's Chandler Rome, Houston's deal with Cameron is good for $4 million, indicative of his standing on MLB.com's ranking of the top 50 eligible prospects in this year's Draft.

The elder Cameron told Rome of the experience of watching his son get drafted and then sign a deal with Houston, "I'm happy for him. I'm kind of relieved to be honest with you because it worried the heck out of me every day about it. Now, he gets the chance to experience it, all the things that I talked about for so long and all the things that I tried to instill in him, now they will come into play starting tomorrow or starting on Thursday."

Daz might be well-suited for the rigors of baseball life, considering his father took him on the road with him during his final season as a player. Daz explained the experience to Rome as follows: "Me and my dad chopped it up. Learned how to hit. He took me to the outfield, taught me many things I know today. It was fun, exciting and a great experience for me. See how the players go about their business and have a plan every day."

After reaching an agreement with Cameron, the Astros have now signed deals with all of their first-round picks in the first 10 rounds of the Draft except second-rounder Thomas Eshelman.
