Adrian Gonzalez hits first homer of spring for Dodgers
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Adrian Gonzalez hit his first home run of the spring and Zach Lee gave up a homer and three runs on three hits in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 8-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Friday.
Gonzalez, who hit .275 with 28 homers last season, launched left-hander Jose Alvarez' third pitch of the day over the fence in center field in the third inning.
Alvarez had come on in relief of struggling Angels starter Nick Tropeano, who gave up three runs on four hits over 2 2-3 innings.
Lee surrendered a three-run homer to Angels catcher Geovany Soto in the first. Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes hit a solo homer in the second.
Dodgers prospect Julio Urias, a 19-year-old left-hander, gave up two runs on three hits in his spring debut. He struck out the first three batters he faced in the seventh, but surrendered back-to-back doubles in the eighth.
