AA Biloxi returns from (very) long road trip
In what has to be one of the oddest scheduling quirks of all-time, the Brewers AA affiliate played its first 54 games of the season on the road.
However, the team finally returned home and played its first home game this past weekend.
The long road trip to start the season was certainly tough, but a lot of positives did come out of the situation.
“Our thing coming out of spring training was to make the best of the situation and to focus on development,” manager Carlos Subero told the Milwaukee-Journal Sentinel. “That’s the main thing in the minor things.
“With that being said, it was two ways to go. We could be miserable and start making excuses, or even if we lose games, go out there and grind it out and try to develop. That’s the way we approached it.
“I think we’re off to a good start. I thought about the 30- or 40-game mark it was really going to hit us and it never really did. A lot of credit goes to the Milwaukee Brewers. It was tremendous what they did with all of the little perks they threw in there. They picked up meals and got us in movie theatres and things like that. They did the best to make it easier for us and more fun.”
