Wyndham announces 10-year extension to sponsor PGA event

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) The annual PGA Tour event in Greensboro will keep its title sponsorship with Wyndham Worldwide through 2026.

Officials with the tour and the company announced the 10-year extension to remain the sponsor of the Wyndham Championship on Tuesday.

Wyndham took over sponsorship of the event in 2007. This extension takes effect once the current four-year deal expires after this year's tournament, which is set for Aug. 20-23 at Sedgefield Country Club.

The Wyndham, the PGA Tour's sixth-oldest event, marked its 75th anniversary last year. It's the final tournament before the postseason.

Camillo Villegas won the tournament last year.
