Tiger Woods announces he'll play PGA Tour event in February
After a promising return to competitive golf at the Hero World Challenge earlier in December, Tiger Woods continued his comeback on Tuesday by announcing his commitment to play the Genesis Open early next year.
"This is where it all started. My first PGA Tour event," Woods said. "I was 16 years old, I weighed about 105 pounds ... it was a life-changing moment for me."
Woods famously returned to competition earlier this month for the first time since 2015. While he did not end up in contention at the World Challenge tournament, Rory McIlroy said the 40-year-old Woods exceeded expectations in his initial event back.
The Genesis Open begins Feb. 13, 2017, at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
