Gary Player broke two Masters records with one ace at Par 3 Contest
The Masters Par 3 Contest has unofficially turned into the "Ace Invitational" -- because that's all players are making. The previous record for the most holes-in-one in a single year at the event was five. That mark no longer stands as it was shattered on Wednesday.
A total of NINE aces were made at the Par 3 Contest, nearly doubling the old record. None of them were as spectacular as Gary Player, which was the sixth ace of the day. He became the oldest player (80) to make a hole-in-one at the event. He also more aces than anyone in the event's history (4).
