Coming off victory, Jimmy Walker withdraws from Houston Open

First, Henrik Stenson pulled out of the Shell Houston Open with the flu. Now, Jimmy Walker has withdrawn from this week's tournament at the Golf Club at Houston, citing illness.

Walker won the Valero Texas Open on Sunday for his second PGA Tour victory of the season. He then made a practice trip to Augusta National on Monday to prepare for next week's Masters. A day later, he officially withdrew from the Houston field.

"The city of Houston and tournament director Steve Timms have always been very good to me throughout my career," Walker said in a statement. "Following my win at the Valero Texas Open, I went to Augusta in order to prepare for the Masters. Unfortunately, I soon realized that I was not feeling well and needed to get better before next week. I look forward to returning to Houston in future years."
