Top 10 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds (Mar. 28)
Every Monday, D.J. Foster will highlight 10 potential waiver wire adds for your fantasy basketball team. Here are the selections for the week of March 28:
| Fantasy Basketball Top 10 Waiver Adds (March 28) | |||
| Player | Position | Games | Note |
| Robert Covington | SF/PF | 3 | Despite only playing three games during championship week, Covington should approach double-double territory with threes and steals in his remaining games. He's worth it. |
| Ian Mahinmi | C | 4 | He's a little under-owned for my taste, as he should rack up the rebounds and sprinkle in a few blocks and assists, as well. |
| D.J. Augustin | PG | 4 | If you need help with assists and threes, he's your guy. Augustin has been a solid contributor in both categories over the last few weeks, and that shouldn't change now. |
| Rondae Hollis-Jefferson | SF | 5 | It's a little risky, but RHJ is back in action and can stuff the stat sheet with defensive numbers when he gets enough minutes. With Brooklyn playing a league-high five games, he could swing the championship for you. |
| Willie Cauley-Stein | PF/C | 4 | We've seen these little spurts before, but after two 20+ point performances in a row, I'm back on board. He won't really hurt you in any way. |
| Bojan Bogdanovic | SF | 5 | You have to be all-in on the Nets this week, and Bojan has been the most consistent scorer they've had. Don't expect fireworks, but solid scoring should be there. |
| Taj Gibson | PF | 5 | The Bulls also play five games this week, and while Gibson is a far better player in real life than he is in fantasy, he can add some rebounds and points. |
| Salah Mejri | PF/C | 4 | If you have plenty of bench space, Mejri may be worth a speculative addition given his two big games a week ago. Rick Carlisle may want to rest Zaza Pachulia for the postseason. |
| Josh Richardson | SG | 4 | He came out of nowehere, but he has solidified himself as a strong scorer and defensive player for Miami. He isn't going anywhere. |
| Sean Kilpatrick | SG | 5 | Loading up on Nets and Bulls is the way to go, as the extra games could be a huge advantage for you. Kilpatrick isn't special, but he'll be on the court plenty. |
It's championship week, and as per usual, some unfamiliar names could lead you to glory.
A lot of people will shy away from Robert Covington due to the 3-game week, but all the frontcourt stats in Philly are falling in his lap right now. When he's healthy, he's a potent fantasy contributor due to his unique combination of rebounding, scoring and three-point shooting abilities.
I'm focusing in on two rookies for this last week: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Willie Cauley-Stein. Both can help you in the defensive categories and rebounding, but we have to hope they get enough minutes.
D.J. Augustin is one of the few free agents out there that can help you in assists. Add him before your opponent can.
Good luck this week!
