WVU safety Joseph named Big 12 defensive player of the week

It's not too often you see one defensive player force four turnovers in one game. It's even less often you see three of those turnovers being forced in one turnover.

For West Virginia safety Karl Joseph, both of those statements came to fruition in the season opener against Georgia Southern. For his efforts, Joseph was named Big 12 defensive player of the week.

Joseph earned preseason first-team all-America honors from the CBS Sports and the Sporting News, among others. By the looks of things early on, he seems likely to live up to that billing.
