Will RB Pennamon switch from Ole Miss to Alabama?

2016 running back D'Vaughn Pennamon has been committed to Ole Miss since last July. Although he's been a longstanding pledge to the Rebels, it hasn't stopped other programs from pursuing the elite athlete.

The Manvel, Tex. native has taken official visits to both Cal, Texas A&M, and Arkansas. While Cal nor Arkansas appear to be strong contenders for his services, there's another program trying to sneak in and poach Pennamon from his commitment to Ole Miss.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban recently visited with Pennamon. The prep running back is also supposed to visit Alabama officially on Jan. 22.

While Ole Miss has undoubtedly build a long relationship with Pennamon (and should be considered the favorite at this time), Alabama's achievements as a program speaks for itself.

From a depth chart standpoint, Alabama lost Derrick Henry to the NFL. Bo Scarbrough and Damien Harris will likely contend for a starting spot, but neither has much in the way of experience. Pennamon could come in early and potentially garner early playing time.

He runs with a violent, physical nature. Build low to the ground with a somewhat squatty frame, Pennamon is a handful to tackle. His running style would appear to fit well with Alabama's offensive scheme.
