Why Louisville football is guaranteed to beat Duke on Friday

We take a look at why the Louisville football team will beat Duke and get back on the right track Friday night.

The Louisville football team will finally be back in action this evening against the Duke Blue Devils. After a crucial loss to Clemson and a long week off, the Cardinals will be ready to roll later tonight. Look to avenge their loss to Clemson, Louisville should win big over Duke.

One of the main reasons why Louisville win will tonight is because of Louisville’s defense. Duke is bringing in a freshman quarterback in Daniel Jones who has struggled turning over the football this season.  I strongly believe that this Cardinals’ defense is a top-five unit and they will, by far, be the toughest defense Jones has faced in his young NCAA career.

Here is our prediction for the game this evening:

Jaire Alexander kept Louisville in the Clemson game because of his two interceptions. I expect that Louisville’s defense will be able to generate enough pressure up front that Jones will throw at least two more interceptions in this game. Don’t be surprised if one of those turnovers comes by the way of Jaire Alexander.

This could also be the break-out game for Cardinals’ linebacker Devonte Fields. He is one of the best defenders in the country, but hasn’t been able to get to the quarterback as much as we expected this season. To be fair, teams have focused their protections on Fields, therefore giving fellow linebacker James Hearns multiple opportunities in the backfield. Look for Fields to finally breakthrough with a great statistical performance this evening.

This will surely be a fun game for Louisville football fans and not so much fun if you love the Blue Devils.
