Who will replace injured LB Scooby Wright for Arizona?

Linebacker Scooby Wright, fortunately for the Arizona Wildcats, is sidelined just three to four weeks and not the entire season, as some may have suspected.

The "next man up" for Arizona is Haden Gregory, now listed as the starting middle linebacker on the depth chart. He's a fifth-year senior and played in six games during the 2014 season. Cody Ippolito would have been Wright's backup, but he tore his ACL during fall camp. Gregory's backup will be Antonio Smothers Jr.

Gregory is a walk-on from Southern California; he is a transfer from Long Beach City College that joined the team in 2013.

"I thought Haden [Gregory] came in and made some plays, was pretty active," said coach Rich Rodriguez, according to a report. "It was his first extended action there, so I think he will get better from that, and he’s going to have to.”
