Who is new South Carolina defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson?
For one thing, he has a longstanding relationship with head coach Will Muschamp. Robinson was a defensive backs coach at Florida during Muschamp's tenure. Last year, he was with Muschamp at Auburn under the same position.
In his first job as a defensive coordinator, Robinson truly does seem primed to take on the challenge and improve South Carolina's defense. A 34-year-old native of Miami, Robinson played three years in the NFL -- before becoming a graduate assistant at his alma mater (Auburn).

In an interview with South Carolina's official Twitter page, he spoke about his philosophies as a coach, and what he plans on instituting within the team.
Clearly, Robinson is attempting to cultivate personal relationships with his players -- including hanging out with them outside of the football field. In addition, he is all about player development.
"We're going to have fun. You'll win here at South Carolina. You'll be developed the right way," said Robinson.
He also has tons of admiration for Muschamp, obviously stemming from the preexisting relationship the two have.

"He's a guy with great integrity, and I really trust his vision for the program," said Robinson. "Who better to learn under than Coach Will Muschamp?"
