What does Deshone Kizer have in common with a Notre Dame Heisman winner?

Notre Dame quarterback Deshone Kizer had an impressive season by most measures.

The redshirt freshman completed 211 of 335 passes for 2,884 yards with 21 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions. He also ran for 520 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The Ohio native finished 17th in the nation in yards per pass attempt (8.6), 25th in yards per completion (13.67) and 24th in pass efficiency rating (150).

Leave it to college football guru Phil Steele to find an interesting way to put that last number into perspective.

Although Steele's tweet had a typo (Huarte actually won the 1964 Heisman), the point is still valid.

DeShone Kizer had a historically great season for a Notre Dame quarterback.

What will he do for an encore? First he will have to hold off Malik Zaire to maintain the job, but the Fighting Irish figure to be in good hands either way.
