WATCH: Who needs a QB? Jefferson's 80-yard TD extends Baylor's lead

On yet another direct snap to Johnny Jefferson on Tuesday, the Baylor Bears' sophomore running back bolted 80 yards for his third touchdown to extend the lead to 42-24 over the North Carolina Tar Heels at the Russell Athletic Bowl.

Not long after North Carolina sliced Baylor's 18-point lead to 28-24, the Bears roared back with more of their unstoppable rushing attack that has featured three running backs -- Jefferson, Devin Chafin and Terence Williams -- and a wide receiver -- Lynx Hawthorne -- alternating snaps along with starting quarterback Chris Johnson.

Jefferson's latest touchdown run gave him 259 yards on just 15 carries for a monstrous 17.3-yard-per-carry average. Baylor, which eclipsed the Russell Athletic Bowl rushing record in the first half with 357 yards (the record was 325 set by Illinois in 1999), has amassed 535 rushing yards before the third quarter came to a close.
