WATCH: Top 2016 DB talks LSU, recruiting
Long regarded as one of the top defensive backs in the class of 2016, LSU commitment Saivion Smith has the ability to come in right away and impact any program as a true freshman.
He's equally capable of playing as both a safety and corner. This sort of versatility will certainly appeal to Les Miles and his staff. Smith's positional versatility also falls in line with many of the defensive backs LSU has churned out over the years to the NFL.
At 6'1", his length helps him defend against bigger offensive players. Dually, Smith has the quickness and speed to stick with smaller players when out on an island -- or defending in the slot.
There was a thought the IMG Academy prep might look around at other schools. He's been committed to LSU since last February. However, Smith spoke about his commitment level at an Under Armour All-America Game practice.
