The safety out of Kansas City is a physical specimen, possessing good size to go along with very good speed. He's tied for third on the team in tackles (44) and has been a steadying influence on the back-end for the Tigers.
His prowess on the football field almost wasn't meant to be. Sherrils was involved in a major car accident in June of 2013. His head smacked against the car window violently. As a result, he suffered a traumatic brain injury. Bleeding occurred on both sides of the brain.
Although this horrific ordeal could have signaled the end of his football career, Sherrils recovered in near record time. He was lifting weights and running a mere month and a half after the accident occurred.
"It was crazy how fast I recovered from it. It was by the grace of God, and my family was backing me up 100-percent," said Sherrils.
Battling back from the injury, Sherrils garnered a starting spot and impacted virtually from day one. Due to his perseverance and hard work, the defensive back truly has transformed himself into an integral member of the Missouri defense.
