Watch the Illinois band perform an amazing tribute to the Cubs at halftime

The Cubs’ winning ways apparently are contagious.

Just three days after Chicago captured its first World Series title in 108 years, the Illinois Fighting Illini used a late fourth-quarter comeback to beat Michigan State on Saturday. Trailing 27-24, the Illini got a TD pass from Jeff George Jr. to Sam Mays with 1:35 left on the clock and held on for a 31-27 win.

Perhaps Illinois created some good karma at halftime with this impressive tribute to the Cubs by its band:

Though the Marching Illini weren't the only Illinois school to do a Cubs tribute on Saturday. Evanston's Northwestern University also performed the song during halftime against Wisconsin.

For the record, it’s perfectly fine to be completely sick of “Go Cubs Go” by now if you aren’t a fan of the team (and even if you are).
