Washington State is 'hopeful' that Luke Falk can play in Apple Cup

Washington State head coach Mike Leach wouldn't comment on the status of QB Luke Falk when asked by reporters on Monday. However, WSU AD Bill Moos said that the program is "hopeful" that Falk would be able to play against Washington in the Apple Cup.

"It’s Coach (Mike) Leach’s policy not to talk about injuries, but there are policies from NCAA in regarding to concussions we follow those to a T," Moos said, per The Seattle Times. "We’re hopeful he can play (in the Apple Cup) but we don’t know yet."

Falk was knocked out of Saturday's win versus Colorado after his head collided with the turf after a sack. He was strapped to a board and carted off the field and taken to a local hospital. Falk was moving his extremities as he was carted off the field.

The Cougars and Huskies will take the field on Friday at 12:30 p.m. PST on FOX.
