Washington eliminates director of football operations position

Washington has dismissed former director of football operations Mike McHugh.

In a move that is surprising, the position of director of football operations has been eliminated, meaning the duties will be "absorbed" by the rest of the staff, according to Adam Jude of The Seattle Times.

McHugh had been the Huskies director of football operations for two seasons. He spent 10 years as the director of football operations at Cal and one year at Fresno State in the same role.

The Huskies fired receivers coach Brent Pease this past Friday and lost defensive line coach and special teams coordinator Jeff Choate to Montana State where he will be the head coach.
