Virginia Tech suspends WR following arrest

Virginia Tech wide receiver Deon Newsome has been suspended indefinitely following his DWI arrest on Sunday.

The sophomore was charged with driving while intoxicated and public intoxication after being being approached by police at approximately 6:20 a.m. on Sunday morning in a Walmart parking, according to a police spokeswoman.

The 5-11, 187-pound redshirt sophomore has seven career receptions for 19 yards and 19 rushing attempts for 93 yards.

Virginia Tech (3-4, 1-2 ACC) will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Duke (5-1, 2-0 ACC) at 3:30 p.m.
