Video appearing to show Mizzou QB Mauk snorting powder may be old
A video that went viral Monday that appears to show Missouri QB Maty Mauk snorting a line of white powder may have actually been taken two years ago and not recently, according to Tigers receiver Keyon Dilosa and a report by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Tigers' former starting quarterback, who was suspended from the team twice in 2015, has since addressed his drug problem, the Post-Dispatch reported citing an anonymous Tigers teammate, and Dilosa tweeted that Mauk "has been clean for a while now." The school suspended Mauk indefinitely from the football program Monday, just over a month after new coach Barry Odom had confirmed his reinstatement.

“We are currently gathering information regarding the video in question,” said Odom and athletic director Mack Rhoades in a joint statement Monday. "This is an issue we take very seriously and one that will not be tolerated within our program. We will take the appropriate actions once we have all the facts. In the interim, Maty Mauk has been indefinitely suspended for the Mizzou football program.”
A source told Fox Sports Tuesday morning that as part of the school’s ongoing investigation there are some indications that point in the direction that the video is old. One of those things is the length of the hair of the guy in the video. Word is, Mauk had gotten a haircut sometime in early December cutting his long hair shorter, and that would back up that the video isn’t recent. The source added that Mizzou hopes to have some resolution by the end of this week as the school continues to gather information.
Mauk was suspended twice due to substance issues, but has been through a counseling program, according to a source.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder has thrown 42 career touchdown passes and just 19 interceptions at Mizzou.
