UNLV vs Central Michigan Live Stream: Watch Rebels vs Chippewas Online
UNLV will be looking for their second win of the season after losing to Pac-12 representative the UCLA Bruins. While Central Michigan will try to remain undefeated after upsetting #22 Oklahoma State.
Week one the Rebels took care of business as they destroyed Jackson State 63-13, but week two saw a different kind of result. UNLV traveled to Pasadena to take on the UCLA Bruins and the second quarter did UNLV in and UCLA came away with the victory 42-21.
Central Michigan Chippewas have been victorious in both their games. In week one they blew up Presbyterian, 49-3. Last week, in a stunning win over #22 Oklahoma (30-27) on a Hail Mary version of a hook-and-ladder, but the play occurred on an untimed down that should not have been awarded by the refs.
UNLV kept pace with UCLA for most of the game it was just the second quarter that gave them troubles. The main difference was the performance by quarterback Johnny Stanton. He was only accurate on 39 percent of his passes connecting just 11 of his 28 attempts resulting in 153 yards and a touchdown while throwing two interceptions. On the side he did contribute to the offense with his legs, rushing ten times for 46-yards and a score.
Continue to look for the connection of Stanton to Devonte Boyd. The junior receiver already has nine receptions for 219 yards and three touchdowns. Also freshman receiver Mekhi Stevenson, who caught Stanton’s only touchdown.
For the Chippewas, the offense rotates around quarterback Cooper Rush. He completed 30-of-42 passes for 361 yards and four touchdowns with an interception. The interception should have cost Central Michigan the game.
Josh Cox and Alex Briones were making plays all over the field for the defense. Combined they racked up 17 tackles, and Cox came down with a critical interception late in the game. Oklahoma State was at the five of Central Michigan about to take the lead when Cox came down with the pick. The rest of the defense contributed with four sacks.

UNLV will need all the offense they can get and will need to get Thomas involved early. Once they get Thomas in action, this will help Stanton be creative in the air and the ground. For Central Michigan, they will need to capitalize on the throwing mistakes of Stanton and keep him contained. Then let Rush loose and put points on the board. It won’t be easy for the Chippewas to keep UNLV offense at bay, but there should be enough and come out with the victory.
