UNC's Turner named top lineman in the nation

The honors keep pouring in for North Carolina guard Landon Turner. Days after being named an all-ACC first-teamer, the Tar Heels Senior won the 2015 Jim Parker Award, which is given to the nation’s top offensive lineman.

The 6-4, 325-pound Turner was named the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week four times this season and has helped UNC average nearly 500 yards and 40 points a game this season. He is the first Tar Heels player to win the award.

Turner’s protection has been vital to a UNC offense that as surrendered only 12 sacks this season, which is the best in the ACC.

The No. 10 Tar Heels (11-1) have won 11 straight games and will play in the ACC championship game this Saturday against No. 1 Clemson (12-0).
