UNC Football: Where does ESPN's Todd McShay thinks Mitch Trubisky ends up at?

ESPN NFL Draft expert Todd McShay releases his latest 2017 mock draft

In his latest mock draft, ESPN NFL Draft expert Todd McShay has North Carolina quarterback Mitch Trubisky going 12th overall to the Cleveland Browns.

McShay believes that Trubisky is on the Browns’ radar, but only after they address their need for an outside pass rusher, which he thinks will be done with the No. 1 overall pick. And since the Browns have two picks in the top 12, it’s likely that they will still be able to draft a quality play-called with their second pick.

Contrary to the predictions of other draft analysts, McShay believes that Trubisky will not be the first quarterback taken in the 2017 NFL Draft. He thinks that honor will go to Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, who he believes will be taken second by the San Francisco 49ers.

Since Trubisky’s announcement to turn pro, his draft projections have been all over the place. Some analysts have held steady that he will be the first quarterback selected, while others have been less certain.

Recently, questions regarding Trubisky’s real height have come into play and potentially hurt his draft stock. There are also concerns about the lack of game footage that scouts have to review, given that he was only a college starter for 13 games.

It’s reasonable to assume that Trubisky’s pre-draft interviews as well as his performance and measurables at the combine will play a big part in where he gets selected in this year’s draft.

In its 82nd year, the 2017 NFL Draft will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from April 27 to 29. It’s the first time since 1961 that Philadelphia has been home to the draft.
