UNC Football: T.J. Logan makes defenders look silly as he runs for a touchdown
UNC running back T.J. Logan impresses again with a big day against Illinois
T.J. Logan is pretty good at this football thing.
The senior running back was one of the lone bright spots in the North Carolina Tar Heels loss to Georgia in week one. In week two, he continued his hot play.
Logan and the Tar Heels are taking on the Illinois Fighting Illini in Champaign on Saturday night, searching for their first win of the season. The running back is doing his best to make sure they leave Champaign with a win.
During the second quarter, Logan converted a big third down that resulted in a touchdown. On the play he made some Illinois defenders look silly. Fast forward to the 2:25-minute mark of the video to see the play:
The touchdown marked the 17th straight point the Tar Heels scored, after falling behind 14-7. Logan had 100-plus all-purpose yards in the first half, being a big part of the Tar Heels offense.
He finished with 161 all-purpose yards on the game, building off his 200-plus yard performance against Georgia in week one.
Logan is emerging as not only one of the best players on the Tar Heels, but in the country as well and will continue to do so if he keeps this play up.
As you can see in the video above, Logan’s catch and run wasn’t the only highlight the Tar Heels had. It’s early in the season and this is the type of game that can really build some momentum for the Tar Heels moving forward.
The Tar Heels are scheduled to take on James Madison at Kenan Memorial Stadium for their home opener next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
