UCLA Football: Washington State is the Early Favorite Against the Bruins

The UCLA Football team opens as underdogs against their next opponents, the Washington’s State Cougars.

The season of promise is turning into the season of broken dreams for the UCLA Football team and it is not getting any better.

After losing to Arizona State 23-20, in which they were favored by 10, the Bruins find themselves in a sticky situation going forward.

In their next contest, the Bruins are the early underdogs against Washington State, +3.5.

More from Go Joe Bruin

The Cougars defeated the Bruins last year at the Rose Bowl on a last second touchdown, showing that Wazzu was a contender in the North and should not be taken lightly.

That belief continues into this season as the Cougs are currently second in the North Division (behind Washington) and are boasting a 2-0 conference record and are 3-2 overall.

Washington State is turning some heads this season in conference as they just annihilated the last two Pac-12 champions.

Last night, Wazzu destroyed the mighty Cardinal of Stanford, 42-16. The week before they took out the lowly Oregon Ducks, 51-33.

Now it seems as though they could have a third conference victory, according to odds makers. Washington State had opened as a 1.5 favorite against the Bruins, but that number has already jumped up to 3.5. That is not a good sign for UCLA.

What is even worse is the uncertainty of Bruin QB Josh Rosen who was knocked out of the game against Arizona State twice. Rosen hurt his leg early in the game and then his wrist in the 4th quarter. If he cannot go against WSU, then not only is the spread going to increase, but so will the Cougars’ margin of victory.
