UCF hires Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost as head coach
Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost will become the new head coach at UCF, a source told FOX Sports Tuesday morning. The school announced the move later in the morning.
Frost takes over for George O'Leary, whose team went 0-12 during a season in which he retired in late October. Quarterbacks coach Danny Barrett had been filling in on an interim basis.
Frost, a five-year NFL defensive back after playing quarterback in college under Bill Walsh at Stanford and Tom Osborne at Nebraska, turned down the Colorado State head coaching job last winter because the timing wasn't right and he wanted to coach the Ducks in the College Football Playoff.
Rivals.com was the first to report Frost's hiring.
